San Antonio physician and founder of the Lee Surgical Hospital in 1909. Dr. Venable, along with Walter G. Stuck and Asa Beach, was the author of a series of papers in the 1940's on the internal fixation of fractures using the alloy Vitallium, previously used only in dental appliances.
